Black Haven is Going Virtual

The recent pandemic restrictions may have limited our ability, at CTCore-OrganizeNow, to meet in person, but not our excitement. We are grateful to have received such beautiful Black art by so many talented individuals and we can’t wait for you to see.

WHAT IS BLACK HAVEN FILM FESTIVAL?

Black Haven is a first of its kind, short film festival that seeks to celebrate Black art and representation – but it’s also more than that. Black Haven is a rallying cry. It’s an opportunity to bring media, theatre, and film communities together, to begin to break down the long standing systems that keep excellent, genius art from being supported, funded, seen, celebrated AND held at the status that it rightfully deserves to be held at.

5 short films have been selected to be featured at the first ever (Virtual) Black Haven Film Festival on November 20, 2020.

6:00 PM – 8:30PM

Black Haven will celebrate Black art and representation with a showing of selected films and panel discussion with the artists. So pull up. Wear your best dress that expresses you and all your intersections and identity. It’s Black Haven ya’ll.

Black Haven Film Festival has been made possible by partners at the City of New Haven Arts Culture Tourism Division, Elm City Lit Fest, Collective Consciousness Theatre, Arts Council, and ConnCAT.
